"Halloween" derives from the Old English, "all Halloween's eve," St. Eve or, as it refers to the night of Oct. 31, the eve of the Feast of All Saints. The Anglo-Saxon fantasy, however, has stolen his sense of religion to hold in place the night of terror, of witches and ghosts.

In Panama on Halloween is something like this: Shops decorated with fake cobwebs, witches sides of (the houses are not decorated) ... will begin to sell masks, and more clear what is advertised is the festival of costumes in discothèques, cash prizes or trips.

On Nov. 3 they celebrate the independence of Panama from Colombia.

On November 4 is celebrated on the day of the flag.

On November 5 is celebrated the reaffirmation of the separation of Panama from Colombia in the province of Colon.

HALLOWEEN
ORIGIN AND MEANING

The Celtic origin:
The Halloween has an origin outside the Christian faith. This celebration is attributed to the Celts (who lived in the current area of Ireland) and was originally called "Samhain", which among other things, aims at providing cult of the dead.
"Gift or damage"
The tradition of "gift or damage itself Day Halloween has its origins in the persecution that made the Protestants in England (1500-1700) against Catholics.
During this period, Catholics had no legal rights. They could not exercise any public office and were harassed by fines, high taxes and even jail. The concluding Mass was a capital offense, and hundreds of priests were martyred for exercising their ministry.
At this time there was an attempt by Catholics to kill Protestant King James I, using gunpowder barrel. But the plot was uncovered and the instigators were to the gallows. This became a great celebration in England (even to this day). Protestants in those regions, concealed with masks, celebrated this date (early November) visiting Catholics and demanding beer and food to its conclusion by threatening that they would do no harm if it provided for the feast.
This custom was carried by emigrants to the new lands of North America, the tradition was to be uniting to Halloween. While in Europe this party was losing strength in America was a sign of their culture identity
Relationship with the occult and witchcraft Are we aware of everything that implies this custom?
Many occult and Satanic groups have taken on Oct. 31 as the most important date on its calendar. That day is called the day "Festival of death" and is the eve of the new year for witchcraft.
Satanism say that the most important day for followers of the evil is that of Halloween. On this night the satanic powers of witchcraft are hidden and to its highest level of power. Satan and his powers are at their strongest point tonight.
The Halloween is directly linked to the occult. It has been registered and documented that on the night of Oct. 31 in Ireland, the United States and many countries in Latin America are performed black masses, spiritualist cults and other related meetings evil and the occult.
Making a simple analysis, it is clear the negative connotations of the images they "decorate" cards, posters, stickers and related Halloween costumes. Jump to the naked eye that the message of love, love, peace and hope we brought our Lord Jesus Christ has been totally divorced from these bloody images that portray witches, sorcerers, walking dead, vampires and other monstrosities that there is nothing constructive. Halloween is, by itself, a "celebration" of evil.
The Halloween today is, above all, a big business.

1-   What is the meaning of Halloween
So You Trick or Treaters Don't Know The True Meaning Of Halloween? Over 2, 000 years ago, the Celts celebrated a holiday they called Samhain (pronounced "Sa-wan"). Samhain was the name of the God of Death. Now you would think that a God of Death would be a nasty guy everyday. Well that may be true to the living but not necessarily to the dead. On the last day of October, (when the harvest season had ended and the days were getting shorter and colder) the God Samhain allowed the souls of the dead to visit the homes they once lived in.
Now this was a scary night for the Celts. On that night they would leave their homes and gather together in a field. Once at the field they would build a huge bonfire, this fire was as big as a torcher errrr tool shed, to scare away all the evil spirits and any ghost, goblins, or any other demons that may be roaming around in the night. I remember those times well. It was fun scaring those Celts silly! Oh how I miss those times. I'd go visit my own home that I once lived in but it is now a McDonald's.
The holiday of Samhian was an ancestor of the Halloween of today. Although it was not called Halloween at first. When the Romans first conquered the Celts in the first century A.D., they added parts of two of their own festivals: Feralia, a festival held to honour the dead, and Poloma, named after the Roman Goddess of fruit and trees.

2-Do you celebrate Halloween in panama?

In Panama on Halloween is something like this: Shops decorated with fake cobwebs, witches sides of (the houses are not decorated) ... will begin to sell masks, and more clear what is advertised is the festival of costumes in discothèques, cash prizes or trips.

Remember to take place as a tradition, no. That is something commercial, night and almost exclusively adult, yes. The only time my mom holding Halloween made me a cake and I dressed in witch. From time to time are also costume contests for children and pets ... McDonald sometimes encourages children to eat in disguise.

In Panama, if it is celebrated in some parts and other critics, and even make them columns in newspapers saying everything bad that is ... (we poor third world), good as everybody knows we had a North American colonial enclave in what was once the Canal Zone, and from there it was leaked here by families who were celebrating, it was generally a thing of children and a curious thing but little by little it was happening today and what place boys and girls, adults in discs and bars, and of course we took advantage shops selling everything related to price expensive ...
But in general custom is to celebrate ... even here in the office around the world walks with one another outfit.

3-What events are celebrated in panama during November 3rd, 4th and 5th?

Important dates:
Nov 3: separation of Panama from Colombia, a fact happened in 1903 day when a group of Panamanians have decided that our country will take its own reins and began to forge their own destiny and that of all Panamanians.

Nov 4: It is held on this date the Flag Day, which was designed by Don Manuel E. Amador and sewn by Dona Maria Ossa de Amador. On November 4 he pays special tribute to the emblem red, white and blue has two stars
The red color symbolizes the blue liberals and the conservatives, the two political parties that were in time for the bloody war. Both colors occupy a similar space in two barracks of an oblong ring. The other two barracks mean white-awaited peace and each of them a star.
The blue star symbolizes the purity and honesty that would regulate the civic life of the motherland, and the red, authority and the law that would impose the rule of those virtues, as explained Don Manuel E. Amador.

November 5: It is the date on which the colon dresses up for the parade in different avenues of the city.

* Halloween.

- What is the meaning of Halloween?
Halloween is a tradition celebrated on the night of October 31, most notably by children dressing in costumes and going door-to-door collecting sweets, fruit, and other treats. It is celebrated in parts of the Western world, most commonly in the United States, Canada, the UK, Ireland and Puerto Rico, and with increasing popularity in Australia and New Zealand, as well as the Philippines. In recent years, Halloween is also celebrated in parts of Western Europe, such as Belgium and France. Halloween originated as a Pagan festival among the Celts of Ireland and Great Britain with Irish, Scots, Welsh and other immigrants transporting versions of the tradition to North America in the 19th century. Most other Western countries have embraced Halloween as a part of American pop culture in the late 20th century.
The term Halloween, and its older spelling Halloween, are shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the evening before “All Hallows’ Day” (also known as “All Saints’ Day”). The holiday was a day of religious festivities in various northern European Pagan traditions, until Popes Gregory III and Gregory IV moved the old Christian feast of All Saints Day from May 13 to November 1. In Ireland, the name was All Hallows’ Eve (often shortened to Hallow Eve), and though seldom used today, it is still a well-accepted label. The festival is also known as Samhain or Oíche Shamhna to the Irish, Calan Gaeaf to the Welsh, Allantide to the Cornish and Hop-tu-Naa to the Manx. Halloween is also called Pooky Night in some parts of Ireland, presumably named after the púca, a mischievous spirit.
Many European cultural traditions hold that Halloween is one of the liminal times of the year when spirits can make contact with the physical world and when magic is most potent (e.g. Catalan mythology about witches, Irish tales of the Sídhe).

- Do you celebrate Halloween in Panamá?
Panama in the Halloween is not celebrated in a traditional manner as the other countries. is celebrated through disfrases competitions, festivals and nightclubs. disfrases competitions are very popular because they aim to find the most original costume and then be rewarded with cash.
Well eventually the Celt religion was replaced by Christianity. Somewhere around 800 A.D. the Christian church declared November 1st as All Saints' Day to honour all the Saints who did not have a special day of their own. On this occasion people made their old customs from Samhian and the Roman festivals part of the All Saints' Day rituals. The Catholic church also made November 2nd All Souls' Day to honour the dead.
The mass said on All Saints' Day was known as Allhallowmas. The evening before, October 31st became known as All Hallow Eve. Over time the name has been shortened to Halloween.
So to sum this story up, basically I now have 3 days in which to roam the earth scaring people as opposed to the old one night I once had. I would like to take this time to thank all the Christians for thier generosity.

2. Do you celebrate Halloween in Panamá?
a. no i dont celebrate tha party because i dont like that celebration but a little kind of peaople celebrate hear that party.

3. ¿what events does the panamenian celebrate the 3,4 and 5 of november?
3 of november
A. The Separation of Panama from Colombia was formalized on 3 November 1903 with the establishment of the Republic of Panama from the Republic of Colombia's Department of Panama. Since its independence from Spain on November 28, 1821 Panama united to the Republic of Gran Colombia which was then also composed by territories from the present countries of Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador.

November 4
The flag of Panama was made by Maria Ossa de Amador. It has been officially adopted by the "ley 4 de 1925"; the flag is celebrated on November 4, one day after Panamanian independence from Colombia. The first flag proposed in 1903, consisted of 7 horizontal stripes of red and yellow, with a blue canton containing 2 golden suns, joined by a narrow line to depict the oceans to be united by the Panama Canal. However this was not accepted by the Panamanian leader, Manuel A. Guerrero, whose family designed a new flag..

1. What is the meaning of Halloween?
Halloween means " All hallow's eve ", word that comes from the ancient Englishman(English), and that it(he,she) means " eve of all the saints ", since it(he,she) refers to the night of October 31, eve of the Holiday(Party) of All the Saints. Nevertheless, the former Anglo-Saxon custom has stolen his(her, your) strict religious sense from him(her) to celebrate in his(her, your) place the night of the terror, of the witches and the ghosts. Halloween marks a sad return to the former paganism, trend that has propagated also between(among) the Hispanic peoples(villages).

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF HALLOWEN?
The Halloween has an origin outside the Christian faith. This celebration is attributed to the Celts (who lived in the current area of Ireland) and was originally called "Samhain", which among other things, aims at providing cult of the dead.

I DO YOU CELEBRATED HALLOWEN IN PANAMA?
Halloween is not a celebration of panama but just as in other countries to join this great night of meetings, saw in the sense that we meet with other people through the disguises and certain kinds of rituals.

WHAT EVENT ARE CELEBRATED IN PANAMA DUNING NOVEMBER 3rd, 4th, 5th?

* On Nov. 3 he is being held in panama separation of colombia, whose separation was given in the year 1903, this year deliver 105 years
* The 4 of the same month we celebrated the day of the national flag, which was compiled by Maria Ossa de Amador
* On November 5 date is important, crucial say in the timing of the Panamanian nationality. The acts of independence, carried out since the administrative center of Panama as a part-time Colombia was finally realized by the actions carried out by men like Porfirio Columbus Melendez, Carlos Clemant, among others, and women as Aminta Melendez, a young man 15 years, all believers in the need to end the ties that united us to Colombia.

Several are historical facts that recorded texts on the participation of Columbus in that epic that is the national holiday for all Panamanians and Panama. When the November 3 1903 declaring the final separation (and before there had been three attempts) Columbus was 51 years old. Its foundation came from the February 27, 1852 with the construction of the railway. To put it in some way, they were five decades of sweat of the working class that allow the nation, in its first steps, starting with the right foot in what would be the economic structure of the nascent country.

1-WHAT IS THE MEANING OF HALLOWEN

over 2,000 years ,the celts celebrated a holiday they called samhain. samhain was the name of the God of Death . now you would think that a God of Death would be a nasty guy everuday.well that may be true to the living but not necessarity to the dead. On the last day of October (when the harvest season had ended and the days were getting shorter and colder) the God samhain allowed of the dead to visit the homes they once lived in.
Now this was a scary night for the celts . On that night they would leave their homes and gather together in a field. Once at the field they would build a huge bonfire, this fire was as big as a torcher errrr tool shed,to scare away all the evil spurits and any ghost, goblins, or any other demons that may be roaming around in the night. I remenberthose times well.It was funscaring those celts silly!Oh how Imiss those. I`d go visit my o9wn home that I once lived in but it is now a McDonal`s.
the holiday of samhain was an ancestor of the halloween of today. although it was not called halloween at first. When the Romans first conquered the celts in the firts century A.D, they added parts of two of their own festivals: a festival held to honour the dead.and paloma, named after the roman Goddess of fruit and trees.

                                          ASSIGMENT:

1.R: The name is actually a shortened version of "All Hallows' Even," the eve of All Hallows' Day. "Hallow" is an Old English word for "holy person," and All Hallows' Day is simply another name for All Saints' Day, the day Catholics commemorate all the saints. At some point, people began referring to All Hallows' Even as "Hallowe'en" and then simply "Halloween."

Following the Jewish tradition, Christians observe many holy days from sundown on one day until sundown on the following day. This is where we get the practice of celebrating Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, etc. The direct predecessor of modern-day Halloween is the festivity that began All Saints' Day, which started at sundown on October 31.

While it takes its name from All Saints' Day, modern Halloween is actually a combination of several different traditions. In fact, a lot of the things we do on Halloween predate Christianity entirely. In the following sections, we'll look at the chief traditions that feed into today's Halloween and see how they got all tangled up together in one holiday. Sonrisa Sonrisa Sonrisa Sonrisa Sonrisa

1-What is the meaning of Halloween
Is Halloween merely a bit of a seasonal treat for our children ¬ or is it a dangerous trick?
The celebration or remembrance of Halloween goes back many centuries with many of the beliefs and customs originating with the ancient Celts.
Their harvest festival, Samhaim, was a time when many believed that the spirits of the dead roamed the Earth. Daytime was seen as being safe because it was light. When night came however, the darkness spread fear throughout the villages.
In order to frighten the evil spirits away, bonfires were lit, lanterns hung from houses and bizarre costumes worn.
Halloween today however has lost much of its original spiritual background. It is seen as being harmless fun and a time for children to dress up and spook and scare people

Halloween, or Hallowe'en or Halloween is a holiday from Celtic culture that takes place primarily in the United States on the night of Oct. 31. Children dress for the occasion and walk through the streets asking for candy from door to door. After calling at the door children uttered the phrase "trick or treatment" or "sweet or trick" (from the English expression trick or treat). If adults give them candy, money or any other type of reward, is interpreted to have accepted the deal. If on the contrary they refuse, the boys will spend a little joke, the most common throw eggs or shaving foam against the door.
